Dhaka, Aug 3 (V7N) – Bangladesh Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman on Monday inaugurated the Army International Islamic Institute, describing it as a step toward developing an education system that combines Islamic values with modern learning.
The inauguration ceremony was held at the Jolshiri Housing Project in the capital on Monday (August 3), where senior military officials and invited guests attended the event.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Army Chief said the institute aims to provide an education that integrates Islamic values with contemporary academic standards, helping to develop a morally responsible and disciplined generation for the future.
He noted that the institution will offer English-medium education following the Cambridge curriculum, enabling students to receive internationally recognized academic qualifications while fostering ethical and moral values.
General Waker-Uz-Zaman expressed hope that the value-based educational institution would equip students with high-quality international education and prepare them to contribute positively to society.
During the event, the Army Chief also unveiled, via video conference, the foundation stones of seven additional Army International Islamic Institutes to be established in Barishal, Savar, Bogura, Sylhet, Chattogram, Cumilla and Jashore.
According to the Bangladesh Army, the expansion of the institutes is intended to broaden access to quality education that combines academic excellence with moral and ethical development across different regions of the country.
