Dhaka, Aug 15 (V7N)- The ongoing gas crisis has intensified the suffering of residents and CNG-powered vehicle drivers in the capital, with motorists having to wait for hours at filling stations to refuel.
Long queues of vehicles were seen at several CNG filling stations in the Kuril-Khilkhet area from Saturday (August 15) morning.
Drivers said they are often being forced to wait four to five hours to get gas. The prolonged queues are reducing the time available for carrying passengers and consequently cutting into their daily earnings.
Several drivers said they are spending a significant portion of their working hours standing in queues instead of transporting passengers. As a result, both passenger services and their daily incomes are being affected.
The gas shortage is not limited to vehicles. Gas pressure has also fallen in several areas of Dhaka, causing additional difficulties for households.
Residents said the low pressure is disrupting everyday activities, particularly cooking, adding to the hardship caused by the ongoing gas supply crisis.
