Dhaka, Sep 16 (V7N)- Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman has traveled to Japan to attend the 20th Asian Games, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate said in a press release on Wednesday (September 16).

General Waker-Uz-Zaman, who also serves as president of the Bangladesh Olympic Association, will attend the opening ceremony of the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.

During his visit, the army chief is scheduled to attend various sporting events involving Bangladeshi athletes and other competitors at the continental multi-sport event.

He will also participate in bilateral meetings with senior officials of Asian Games and Olympic associations, according to the ISPR release.

The visit is expected to provide an opportunity for discussions on sports-related cooperation and Bangladesh's participation in international sporting events.
