Dhaka, Sep 16 (V7N)- President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said the country's engineering and technology universities play an important role in developing skilled, innovative and technology-oriented human resources capable of addressing the challenges of the modern world.
The President made the remarks on Wednesday (September 16) when a delegation led by Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr S.M. Abdur Razzaque paid a courtesy call on him at Bangabhaban.
During the meeting, the RUET delegation briefed the President on the university's academic activities, research initiatives, infrastructure development and overall progress.
President Mirza Fakhrul said engineering and technology universities make significant contributions to Bangladesh's technological advancement and economic development.
He stressed the need to further improve the quality of education and research at these institutions and called for strengthening RUET's capabilities to meet international standards.
The President also emphasized greater emphasis on innovation and technology-oriented education to prepare graduates for the demands of the modern world.
Relevant secretaries from the President's Office were present during the meeting.
