Dhaka, Sep 20 (V7N)- Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md. Sakhawat Hossain has announced plans to establish dedicated modern medical centers to expand infertility treatment facilities in Bangladesh.
He made the announcement on Sunday morning (September 20) while speaking at a seminar on polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) awareness at Dhaka Medical College.
The minister emphasized the need to ensure modern equipment for infertility treatment and develop skilled physicians in the field. He also stressed the importance of arranging specialized training for medical students.
Sakhawat Hossain said greater public awareness is needed so that couples facing infertility do not become victims of social harassment or discrimination.
Expressing confidence in the country's physicians, the minister also said Bangladesh has a significantly low number of hospital beds compared with its population.
He stressed that healthcare services must be expanded alongside increasing the number of hospital beds to ensure adequate medical care for the country's growing population.
