July Memorial Bears Names of 834 Martyrs

The 90-foot-high July Memorial has been constructed on approximately one acre of land to commemorate those killed during the 2024 uprising. The names of 834 martyrs have been engraved on the structure using laser-cutting technology, while 20 symbolic tombstones have been installed in front of the monument.

The memorial features relief sculptures measuring 163 feet long and 4.5 feet high on the exterior, and 171 feet long and 7.5 feet high on the interior.

The artwork depicts Bangladesh’s history of movements and struggles, including the Language Movement of 1952, the Mass Uprising of 1969, the Liberation War of 1971, the mass movement of 1990 and the July Mass Uprising of 2024.

Osmani Udyan Transformed into Modern Recreational Space

The historic 23-acre Osmani Udyan, located between Old and New Dhaka, has been modernised under a project designed to create a greener, safer and more accessible public recreation centre.

The development includes the renovation of existing water bodies and the construction of five new ones. New trees and green islands have also been added while preserving existing vegetation.

The park features approximately 3.1 kilometres of walking paths, a gymnasium, a pagoda, public toilets, parking facilities and a water reservoir. A rainwater conservation system with a capacity of 50,000 litres has also been installed.

Arranged across two levels, the park includes an elevated access path approximately two metres above road level to improve access for visitors.
