Following the recent national election, there is no chance of a diplomatic crisis in the nation, Minister of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Anisul Huq stated on Monday.

"You were concerned that the country might have a diplomatic crisis following the election. However, you are already aware that there isn't a chance for a diplomatic crisis to arise in the nation," he stated.

Following a polite visit with Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Verma at his Secretariat office this afternoon, the minister was speaking with the media.

"It is necessary to always clarify the application of laws and provisions in the development partnership with India as our neighbouring country," he said.

"Besides, the legal infrastructures of Bangladesh and India have been almost similar for a long time. So, we always discuss the possibilities of changes brought by India in their law, to Bangladeshi ones and vice versa. We held that discussion today also," Anisul added.

The Law Minister said the training of Bangladeshi judicial officers at India's National Judicial Academy in Bhopal came up for discussion.

“Our 1,206 judicial officers are undergoing training there. About 2000 officers would take training from there. We are going to set up our National Judicial Academy and we would need their experience in this regard. We have discussed the matter also and the discussion was very fruitful," he said.
