Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina distributed relief materials to cyclone Remal victims in Patuakhali district today.

The relief distribution, organized by the district administration, took place at Government Mojahar Uddin Biswas Degree College in Kolapara. Earlier, the Prime Minister surveyed the cyclone damage in Mathbaria and Pathorghata areas by helicopter.

Cyclone Remal, which hit the Bangladesh coast on Sunday, caused significant devastation, including tidal surges and torrential rains that destroyed homes and infrastructure. The cyclone claimed at least 16 lives and severely impacted over 3.7 million people across 19 districts.

After distributing relief, Hasina visited the Shaheed Sheikh Kamal Bridge and held a meeting with divisional officials to review relief operations and assess rehabilitation needs. She is scheduled to return to Dhaka at 3 pm.
