Achim Tröster, Germany's ambassador to Bangladesh, has praised Bangladesh's remarkable socioeconomic growth throughout the past ten years.

In particular, he emphasized Bangladesh's current forecast rather than its historical projection.

The ambassador reported that he has been actively connecting with Bangladesh's strong and vibrant modern socio-economic reality during his meeting with Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud at his office on Thursday. He also highly praised the initiatives taken by the Bangladeshi government in strongly projecting achievements of the new Bangladesh in Germany.

The foreign ministry expressed gratitude to the ambassador, pointing out that the country's Hi-Tech and Software Technology Parks, as well as Special Economic Zones, have made the new Bangladesh already an incredible place to invest.

The ambassador congratulated Hasan on his appointment as foreign minister and gave him a note of congratulations from Annalena Baerbock, the German Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs.

Along with the congratulations, the German ambassador also gave Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina a physical copy of the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz's letter.

The foreign minister described the two countries' relationship as historic and

said that the 1971 Bangladeshi War of Liberation served as the impetus for the current, thriving relations between Bangladesh and Germany.

He remembers Germany's outstanding assistance and its citizens in the adoption of many war kids as foster parents and praised German medical assistance to several wounded liberation warriors following independence.

The German envoy expressed gratitude to the foreign minister for his memory and reiterated the formal friendship that has existed between the people of the two countries since 1972.

The FM and the German ambassador conveyed their delight with the two nations' collaboration in international forums, such as the United Nations.

The foreign minister and the German ambassador also discussed the severe effects that wars and conflicts have on the economies of the two nations, particularly those that occur in the Red Sea, Gaza, and the Ukraine.
