Dhaka, August 5 — In a wave of escalating violence, protesters set fire to the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Museum at 32 Dhanmondi on Monday afternoon. Simultaneously, the office of Awami League President Sheikh Hasina at Dhanmondi 3/A was also targeted and set ablaze. Demonstrators were seen chanting slogans as the flames consumed these iconic locations.

The arson attacks occurred shortly after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina fled the country amid growing unrest and calls for her resignation. At approximately 2:30 PM, Sheikh Hasina, accompanied by her younger sister Sheikh Rehana and other family members, departed from Bangabhaban in a military helicopter. They have reportedly relocated to a safe location, with news agency AFP confirming their departure.

These actions highlight the severe political instability in Bangladesh, as protesters have taken increasingly drastic measures.
