Dhaka, August 5 — Dhaka University law professor Asif Nazrul addressed students and the public via a video message on Facebook, expressing optimism about the country's future after the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He emphasized that Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman has recognized the aspirations and expectations of the students and the broader population.

"I think the army chief has understood the aspirations and expectations of our students and people," Asif Nazrul stated. He added, "InshaAllah, I hope that there is a lot of good news coming for you. I urge all my students, young people, and the people of the country to be patient and maintain peace and order. InshaAllah, we will move in the right direction from now on."

Asif Nazrul's message came after a significant meeting held by General Waqar-uz-Zaman with leaders of various political parties and civil society members, following the departure of Sheikh Hasina from the country. The law professor, who attended the meeting, conveyed his thoughts to the students shortly after.

In a subsequent address to the nation, General Waqar-uz-Zaman announced that an interim government would be formed, in consultation with the President, to guide the country through this transitional period. He assured the public that their demands would be addressed and justice would be served for any wrongdoings that occurred during recent events.

As the situation unfolds, Asif Nazrul's call for patience and calm resonates with many, highlighting the need for unity and stability during this critical time.
