Dhaka, August 05 (V7N) - In a significant move towards stabilizing the country, President Md. Sahabuddin convened a meeting with individuals from various classes and professions at Bangabhaban on Monday night. The discussions focused on the formation of an interim government and the future governance of Bangladesh.

Among the attendees was Dhaka University Law Department Professor Asif Nazrul, who shared insights with journalists following the meeting. He emphasized the critical role of the youth in the nation's future, stating, "The youth will manage Bangladesh in the future. How long will we live? So no more destruction of state property."

Professor Nazrul also addressed recent concerns regarding police actions during the protests. While acknowledging that some police officers had overstepped their bounds, he pointed out that many police personnel sympathized with the students' demands and even provided aid to the injured. "I have also seen the injured student being carried by the police like a child," he remarked, urging the public not to generalize the actions of a few to the entire force. "If one of the ten commits a crime, please don't be angry with the other nine. They are the people of our country."

The discussions at Bangabhaban also highlighted the need for accountability, with Professor Nazrul emphasizing that every murder must be prosecuted, regardless of whether individuals have fled. However, he urged the public to refrain from acts of vengeance.

Reflecting on the country's current situation, Professor Nazrul called for restraint and vigilance to prevent further harm to the nation's wealth and property. He lamented that the older generation had not left a better country for the new generation, but expressed hope that moving forward, the people would work to preserve and protect the nation's assets.

The meeting marks a critical juncture in Bangladesh's political landscape, as the country navigates the formation of an interim government and addresses the aftermath of recent political upheaval.
