A terrible fire took place at the top of Kanglak hill of Sajek tourist center of Baghaichhari upazila of Rangamati. Meghchua Resort, Furengi Resort, Dumde Resort and a residential house and shop were completely burnt to ashes.

The fire happened around midnight on Friday. No casualties were reported. However, the local administration has confirmed that there has been a huge amount of damage.

According to the police and locals, the army, BGB, police and people of the cottage and resort owner's association rushed to the Dumde resort at around 1 midnight on Friday and brought the fire under control after about two hours of effort. The exact cause of the fire is not yet known.

Confirming the fire, Circle ASP of Sajek Police Station and Rangamati Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Abdul Awal said that the police are trying to find out the exact cause of the fire and whether it is any kind of sabotage.
