Dhaka, August 7— The newly appointed Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md. Moinul Islam met with President Md. Sahabuddin at Bangabhaban on Wednesday.

During the meeting, President Sahabuddin emphasized the importance of maintaining the chain of command within the police force to ensure that every member can perform their duties with improved morale and courage. He congratulated Moinul Islam on his new appointment and underscored the necessity of normalizing law and order in the country under the prevailing circumstances.

The President directed the police to take strict measures to prevent any anarchic situations and looting, highlighting the crucial role of the police in restoring stability and order.

Moinul Islam, who was appointed as the Inspector General of Police on Tuesday, August 6, joined the police force through the 12th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS).
