Dhaka, Aug 27 (V7N): The death toll from the ongoing floods in 11 districts has reached 27, with approximately 56.19 lakh people affected, according to Faruk E Azam, adviser of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief. The adviser shared this information during a press conference at his office in the Secretariat today.

Faruk E Azam reported that there are 12.07 lakh marooned families across the affected districts. The floods have inundated 74 upazilas and damaged 541 unions and municipalities.

The fatalities include ten people from Cumilla, one from Feni, five from Chattogram, one from Khagrachhari, five from Noakhali, one from Brahmanbaria, one from Lakshmipur, and three from Cox's Bazar.
