Dhaka, September 01— In a significant reshuffle, 26 officers of the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and Additional DIG within the Bangladesh Police have been transferred to various units. This move includes the transfer of several key figures, such as RAB Additional Director General (DIG) Imtiaz Ahmed and 16 DIGs who were in charge of critical police units.

The transfers were ordered by the President and were announced in a notification signed by Mahabur Rahman Sheikh, Deputy Secretary of the Public Security Department (Police-1 Branch) of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The officers transferred include:

DIG A ZM Nafiul Islam of the Special Branch (SB) and DIG Md. Nisharul Arif of Police Headquarters have been attached to the Anti-Terrorism Unit.

RAB Headquarters Additional Director General (DIG) Imtiaz Ahmed and SB DIG Md. Abdul Quduch Amin, along with DIG of Industrial Zone Police Mohammad Abul Faiz, have been transferred to the Naval Police.

SB DIG Monirul Islam has been attached to the Anti-Terrorism Unit, while CID DIG AKM Nahidul Islam has been transferred to Police Telecom.

SBR DIG Amena Begum has been attached to the Highway Police, and SBR DIG Md. Monir Hossain is now attached to the Shilpanchal Police. DIG Azad Miyake of Shilpanchal Police has been transferred to the Highway Police.

SB DIG Md. Moniruzzaman is now attached to Rajshahi BPA Sarda, and DIG of Highway Police Jamil Hasan has been moved to the Anti-Terrorism Unit.

Additionally, Mass Rapid Transit (Metrorail) DIG Mahbubur Rahman has been transferred to the Anti-Terrorism Unit, CID DIG Shyamal Kumar Nath has been attached to APBN Headquarters in Dhaka, and DMP Additional Commissioner SM Mostaq Ahmed Khan has also been posted at APBN Headquarters, Dhaka. PBI DIG Miraj Uddin Ahmed has been transferred to DIG Railway Police in Dhaka.

Further appointments include:

Additional DIG (TDS) Mosleh Uddin Ahmed, Supernumerary DIG of Tangail PTC Abu Nasher Mohammad Khaled, and Additional DIG (T&IM) Md. Akram Hossain have been promoted to supernumerary DIG positions and attached to Police Headquarters.

Tourist Police SP Sardar Nurul Amin, promoted to Supernumerary DIG, has been appointed as Director (DIG) of Rajarbagh Central Police Hospital.

SB Additional DIG GM Azizur Rahman, SB Additional DIG Md. Sarwar, and Chittagong RRF Superintendent of Police Mahmudur Rahman, all promoted to Supernumerary DIG, have been attached to the Special Branch.

These transfers reflect the ongoing administrative changes within the Bangladesh Police, aimed at optimizing the force's effectiveness and operational readiness in handling various security challenges across the country.
