Dhaka, Sep 13 (V7N) – Md Sujon Hossain, a member of the Armed Police Battalion (APBn), has been arrested for allegedly firing indiscriminately at civilians in Dhaka's Chankharpul area during the long march on August 5.

According to an official from Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), Sujon was taken into custody on the night of September 12 in connection with a murder case filed at Shahbag police station.

On August 5, even after news of Sheikh Hasina's resignation spread, law enforcement continued to fire on students and civilians in the Chankharpul area, resulting in multiple casualties.

A video shared on social media showed APBn members targeting and firing at people during the incident. Additionally, Akhtarul Islam, the former additional deputy police commissioner of DMP's Ramna zone, was seen in the footage overseeing and giving orders.
