Bangladesh's capital city of Dhaka On Tuesday, January 2, dense fog delayed flight operations at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for eight and a half hours.
Six planes were diverted to international airports in Sylhet and Chittagong after failing to make a landing at Shahjalal Airport Group, according to Captain Muhammad Kamrul Islam, Executive Director.
He added that fog prevented planes from operating regularly from 12 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., and that when the weather cleared up, flight operations resumed at 9 a.m.
A statement from the Met office states that there could be moderate to dense fog over the nation from midnight to Wednesday midday in some locations.
It stated that dense fog may cause problems for road connectivity, inland river transportation, and air navigation.
