Dhaka, Nov 09 (V7N)- In a bid to stabilize market prices, low-cost egg sales will begin tomorrow, November 10, at various points across the capital. The initiative, launched by the Department of Consumer Rights Protection, aims to make eggs more affordable for Dhaka residents amidst rising prices.

The announcement was made by Mohammad Alim Akhtar Khan, Director General of the Department of Consumer Rights Protection, during a ‘Shadow Parliament Debate’ focused on "Market Instability" at the FDC in Dhaka on Saturday morning. He stated that egg sales would commence at six distribution centers in Dhaka North and seven in Dhaka South.

Khan also highlighted the interim government’s broader efforts to curb rising costs, particularly with Ramadan approaching. "The government is working on customs control measures to reduce the prices of essential goods, and we expect market stability for daily necessities during the holy month," he said.

This initiative forms part of a series of measures aimed at supporting consumers and ensuring essential commodities remain affordable in the lead-up to Ramadan.
