Dhaka, Aug 04 (V7N) – All banks and capital markets across Bangladesh will remain closed tomorrow, August 5, in observance of the 'July Mass Uprising Day', according to a notification from Bangladesh Bank.
The Department of Off-Site Supervision of the central bank issued the directive on Thursday (July 17), following a Cabinet Division notification dated July 2, which declared August 5 a public holiday in commemoration of the uprising.
In accordance with the government decision, private banks have also announced holidays on the same day.
However, online banking services, including ATMs and CRMs, will remain operational to ensure customer convenience.
Officials have confirmed that regular banking and capital market operations will resume on Wednesday, August 6.
