Chattogram, Aug 16 (V7N) — As part of nationwide prayers for peace and prosperity, the Metropolitan Sarbojanin Puja Committee and Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad have organized Janmashtami celebrations across the country. In Chattogram, the festival commenced with a Gita Yajna (ritual reading of the Bhagavad Gita) conducted by Maharaj from the Shankar Math Mission in Sitakunda.

To ensure smooth and secure observance of the religious programs, authorities have enforced strict security measures in and around celebration venues. Law enforcement personnel are actively monitoring all movements through closed-circuit surveillance systems (CCTV), maintaining a visible presence to prevent any untoward incidents.
