Dhaka, Oct 1 (V7N): Floodwaters in the Brahmaputra basin have continued to recede over the past 24 hours, improving the flood situation in low-lying areas. Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) officials reported significant drops in water levels across all major rivers, with many flowing below danger levels.

Despite the overall improvement, riverbank erosion incidents have been reported in several areas. BWDB is conducting protection work in vulnerable locations. Acting Rangpur Divisional Commissioner Md. Azmal Hossain confirmed that relief efforts are ongoing to support affected communities.
