Dhaka, Oct 03 (V7N) — The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has issued a weather alert warning of gusty winds and thundershowers for 17 regions of the country. The forecast, valid till 1 pm on Thursday, predicts wind speeds of up to 60 km/h in certain areas.

The affected regions include Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogra, Tangail, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Faridpur, Jessore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, and Sylhet. Winds are expected to blow from the south or southwest direction. River ports in these regions have been advised to hoist warning signal number 1 as a precaution.

In addition, a separate weather report states that rain and thunderstorms are likely in most parts of the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong, and Sylhet divisions over the next 24 hours starting from 6 pm on Wednesday. Some areas may experience heavy rainfall.

Day and night temperatures are expected to drop by 1 to 3 degrees Celsius during this period.

Residents and travellers in the affected regions are advised to take necessary precautions and stay updated with the latest weather advisories.
