Dhaka, Jan 06 (V7N) — The subcontinental high-pressure system continues to extend over West Bengal and adjoining areas, while the normal seasonal low pressure is centred in the south Bay of Bengal, with its influence extending to the north Bay of Bengal.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department reported the country's lowest temperature of 11.6°C in Jessore this morning. Light to moderate fog is expected across the country from midnight to early morning over the next few days.
Tuesday: Light rain or drizzle is likely at one or two places in the Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions. Elsewhere, the weather is expected to remain mainly dry with partly cloudy skies.
Temperature: Night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged, while daytime temperatures may decrease by 1–2°C.
Wednesday: Moderate to dense fog is likely to form across the country from midnight to morning, potentially disrupting air traffic, river transport, and road communication.
Over the next five days, night temperatures are expected to drop further, intensifying the winter chill. Authorities and residents are advised to prepare for denser fog, which could impact transportation and visibility.
