Dhaka, Apr 11 (V7N) – The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has issued a warning for potential thunderstorms with gusty winds of up to 60 km/h in four regions of the country, advising river ports in the affected areas to hoist warning signal number one.
According to the Met Office's inland river port forecast valid until 1 PM Friday, storms accompanied by rain and gusty winds may sweep across parts of the Mymensingh, Sylhet, Chittagong, and Cox’s Bazar regions.
Meteorologist Md. Toriful Newaz Kabir stated that winds ranging from 45 to 60 km/h may blow from the west or northwest during these storms.
In a broader countrywide forecast issued earlier on Thursday, the Met Office predicted:

River transport operators and passengers in the affected regions are advised to stay updated with official weather alerts and exercise caution while navigating during this period of unstable weather.
