Dhaka, Apr 16 (V7N) – The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast temporary gusty winds accompanied by lightning and rain or thundershowers in Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, with isolated occurrences also likely in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, and Chittagong divisions. Scattered hailstorms may also occur in some areas.
The 24-hour forecast, issued at 9 am on Wednesday (April 16), stated that both day and night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged across the country.
According to synoptic conditions, a low-pressure trough is extending over West Bengal and adjoining regions, while the seasonal low lies over the South Bay of Bengal.
On Tuesday, the highest temperature recorded was 35.8°C in Feni, while the lowest temperature on Thursday morning was 19.6°C in Tentulia.
Sitakunda recorded the highest rainfall in the country over the past 24 hours—36 mm—until 6 am today. At that same time, relative humidity in Dhaka was measured at 75 percent.
