Dhaka, Apr 26 (V7N)- The capital city Dhaka and its surrounding areas are likely to experience continued intense heat throughout today, with no possibility of rain, according to the six-hour forecast issued by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Saturday morning.
The forecast stated that the sky will remain clear, and winds are expected to blow from the south and southwest at speeds of 10 to 15 kilometers per hour. The daytime temperature is predicted to remain almost unchanged.
Assistant Meteorologist Afroza Sultana confirmed that the ongoing heat wave will continue across Dhaka and the entire country tomorrow as well. However, she added that the intensity of the heat is expected to decrease from Monday, when rain is likely across different regions of Bangladesh.
As of 6 AM today, the temperature in Dhaka was recorded at 28.8 degrees Celsius, with a humidity level of 79 percent. The minimum temperature during that period was 28.5 degrees Celsius, while yesterday’s maximum temperature reached 34.6 degrees Celsius.
Residents have been advised to stay hydrated and take necessary precautions against the ongoing heat wave.
