Dhaka, June 24 (V7N) — The monsoon is currently fairly active over Bangladesh and remains moderate over the North Bay of Bengal, according to a 120-hour weather forecast issued by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Tuesday morning.

Forecast Highlights:

  • Light to moderate rain or thundershowers with gusty winds are likely across most parts of Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions.

  • Many areas of Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, and Barishal divisions may also experience rain.

  • Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected in some parts of Rangpur, Rajshahi, and Mymensingh.

  • Day and night temperatures may decrease slightly across the country.

Outlook for the Week:

  • Wednesday to Saturday (June 25-29): The rainfall pattern will continue with light to moderate rains and gusty winds likely in most places of Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet, and in many parts of the rest of the country. Moderate to heavy rainfall may occur at isolated places.

  • Temperatures: Expected to slightly decrease over the coming days and then remain almost unchanged towards the weekend.

  • The overall rainfall trend is expected to persist for the next five days, BMD said.

Residents across Bangladesh are advised to remain cautious during heavy showers, especially in areas prone to waterlogging or flash floods.
