Dhaka, July 28 (V7N) – Moderate to heavy rainfall is likely to occur in parts of Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong, and Sylhet divisions, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department’s 24-hour weather forecast issued at 9 am on Monday.
In addition, light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty winds, are expected in most places of the four aforementioned divisions and in many places across Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, and Mymensingh divisions.
The forecast also indicates that day and night temperatures may decrease slightly across the country.
Synoptic Situation:
The previously pronounced low pressure over Madhya Pradesh and adjacent areas has weakened into a low and moved west-northwestward, merging with the monsoon axis.
The extension of the monsoon axis now stretches from Rajasthan to Assam via Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, and southern parts of Bangladesh.
Monsoon winds remain active over Bangladesh and are moderate in the North Bay of Bengal, contributing to the wet weather conditions.
