Dhaka, Aug 23 (V7N) – The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has asked the country’s seaports to hoist local warning signal number 3 as active monsoon winds continue to form circulating clouds over the North Bay of Bengal.
In a warning issued on Saturday morning, the Met Office said that under the influence of active monsoon, gusty or squally winds are likely to sweep across the North Bay, coastal areas of Bangladesh, and adjoining seaports.
As a precaution, the ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been asked to display warning signal number 3.
The advisory further instructed fishing boats and trawlers in the North Bay to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.
