Dhaka, May 25 (V7N)- The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast a significant change in weather conditions across the country ahead of the Eid-ul-Azha holidays, warning of gusty winds, thunderstorms, and rainfall on the Eid day.
The forecast, signed by meteorologist Md. Toriful Newaz Kabir on Monday (May 25), indicates that the weather may remain unstable during the Eid period, with the possibility of heavy rainfall in several divisions.
According to the forecast, rain or thundershowers are likely in many areas of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions over the next 24 hours. In addition, some areas of Dhaka and Chattogram divisions, along with isolated places in Khulna and Barishal, may experience rain accompanied by temporary gusty winds or squally conditions.
The department also warned of moderate to heavy rainfall in parts of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions. Similar weather conditions are expected to continue into Eid day, with thunderstorms and wind gusts affecting multiple regions.
From 9 am on Eid day, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm activity is likely in most divisions, while some areas may experience heavier downpours, particularly in the northern and northeastern regions.
The Meteorological Department also noted that daytime temperatures may slightly decrease across the country, while nighttime temperatures are expected to remain largely unchanged.
Authorities have advised the public to remain cautious during travel and outdoor Eid activities due to the possibility of adverse weather conditions.
