Dhaka, Jul 05 (V7N) — The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast rain and thunderstorms accompanied by temporary gusty winds of up to 60 kilometres per hour in 18 districts, including Dhaka, and advised inland river ports in the affected areas to hoist cautionary signal No. 1.

The warning, issued for the country's inland river ports from 3:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, said that rain or thundershowers accompanied by west or northwesterly winds with speeds of 45 to 60 km/h may affect the regions of Rajshahi, Bogura, Pabna, Dhaka, Tangail, Mymensingh, Faridpur, Madaripur, Jashore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox's Bazar and Sylhet.

In view of the adverse weather conditions, the Meteorological Department has instructed inland river ports in these areas to display Cautionary Signal No. 1 and advised vessels to operate with caution.
