Dhaka, Jul 15 (V7N)- A new low pressure area has developed over the north-western Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal areas of north Odisha and West Bengal, triggering warnings of strong winds over seaports, the north Bay of Bengal and coastal regions of Bangladesh.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department issued the warning on Wednesday (July 15).
According to the warning, local warning signal number 3 has been instructed to be displayed at the seaports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra.
The Meteorological Department also advised all fishing boats and trawlers operating in the north Bay of Bengal to move carefully towards the coast and remain cautious until further notice.
Authorities have urged fishermen and coastal residents to stay alert as rough weather conditions may prevail in the affected areas due to the developing weather system.
