Dhaka, Jul 18(V7N)- The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast temporary gusty or squally winds of 45 to 60 kilometres per hour in eight regions of the country until 1:00 pm today (July 18). Rain or thundershowers are also likely during this period.
The forecast was issued in the weather warning for the country's inland river ports, valid from 5:00 am to 1:00 pm.
According to the warning, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong, Cox's Bazar and Sylhet may experience temporary gusty or squally winds blowing from the south or southeast at speeds of 45–60 km/h.
The Meteorological Department also said that rain or thundershowers are likely to occur in these regions.
In view of the weather conditions, river ports in the affected areas have been advised to display Local Cautionary Signal No. 1.
