Dhaka, Jul 22 (V7N) – The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has warned that gusty winds of up to 60 kilometres per hour could sweep across seven districts by Wednesday evening, accompanied by rain or thunderstorms.
In a weather warning issued for the country's inland river ports on Wednesday (July 22), the BMD said temporary rain or thundershowers with gusty or squally winds of 45 to 60 km/h from the south or southeast may affect Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram and Cox's Bazar.
The warning, which remains valid from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., advised inland river ports in the affected regions to display Cautionary Signal No. 1.
The Meteorological Department urged river transport operators and residents in vulnerable areas to remain alert and follow official weather advisories as conditions may deteriorate due to the thunderstorms and strong winds.
