Dhaka, Jul 22 (V7N) – Residents of the capital experienced sunshine and intermittent rainfall on Wednesday morning, with the Bangladesh Meteorological Department forecasting that wet weather is likely to persist throughout the day.
In its six-hour forecast issued at 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday (July 22), the Meteorological Department said rain or thundershowers are likely in Dhaka and surrounding areas by noon.
The forecast also said the sky is expected to remain partly cloudy, with occasional rain or thunderstorms. Daytime temperatures are likely to remain nearly unchanged.
According to the weather office, south to southeasterly winds may blow across the capital at speeds of 10 to 15 kilometres per hour.
At 6:00 a.m., the temperature in Dhaka was recorded at 26.7 degrees Celsius, while the relative humidity stood at 90 percent.
The Meteorological Department also reported that 9 millimetres of rainfall had been recorded in Dhaka and its surrounding areas during the previous 24 hours.
Authorities have advised residents to remain cautious during periods of heavy rainfall and possible thunderstorms as unsettled weather conditions continue over the capital.
