Dhaka, July 27 (V7N)- The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast that gusty winds with speeds of up to 60 kilometers per hour may sweep across eight regions of the country by noon on Monday (July 27).

Alongside strong winds, rain or thunderstorms are also likely in the affected areas. In view of the forecast, the BMD has asked the river ports in these regions to display warning signal number 1.

The information was provided in the weather forecast issued for the country’s inland river ports from 5 am to 1 pm on Monday.

According to the forecast, temporary rain or thunderstorms accompanied by gusty or squally winds from the south or southeast direction, with speeds of 45 to 60 kilometers per hour, may occur in the regions of Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar and Sylhet.

The Meteorological Department has advised river transport operators and passengers in the affected areas to remain cautious due to the possibility of rough weather conditions.
