Dhaka, Aug. 1 (V7N) – The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast gusty winds of 45 to 60 kilometres per hour accompanied by rain or thunderstorms in seven districts of the country by Saturday evening.
The warning was issued for the country's inland river ports and remains valid until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday (Aug. 1).
According to the forecast, the Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Chattogram, Cox's Bazar and Sylhet regions may experience temporary rain or thundershowers along with gusty or squally winds blowing from the south or southeast at speeds of 45–60 km/h.
In view of the weather conditions, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department has instructed inland river ports in the affected regions to hoist Local Warning Signal No. 1.
The advisory, issued for the period from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., urged vessels and people in the designated areas to remain cautious due to the possibility of adverse weather.
