Dhaka, Sep 17 (V7N)- Rain drenched the capital early Thursday morning, causing considerable inconvenience for commuters as many people reached their workplaces soaked.

The rainfall began around 8:00am, with showers continuing across different parts of Dhaka. The wet conditions disrupted normal morning travel and added to commuters’ difficulties.

According to the weather forecast for Dhaka and surrounding areas, the sky may remain partly cloudy to temporarily cloudy during the six-hour period beginning at 7:00am.

South or south-westerly winds are expected to blow at speeds of 10 to 15 kilometers per hour during the period. Daytime temperatures may also fall slightly.

Meanwhile, the forecast for the country's inland river ports, valid from 5:00am to 1:00pm, predicts rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds in several regions.

The affected areas include Rangpur, Bogura, Tangail, Mymensingh and Sylhet. Winds may blow from the south or south-east at speeds of 45 to 60 kilometers per hour.

River ports in these regions have been advised to hoist Warning Signal No. 1 as a precautionary measure.

Authorities have urged people, particularly those travelling by river, to remain cautious amid the possibility of gusty winds and thunderstorms.
