Dhaka, Sep 24 (V7N)- Gusty winds with speeds of up to 60 kilometers per hour, accompanied by rain or thundershowers, may affect several parts of Bangladesh by Thursday evening, according to the Meteorological Office.
The Department of Meteorology issued the warning on Wednesday for the country's inland river ports, with the advisory remaining valid until 6 PM.
According to the warning, rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds from the south or southeast at speeds of 45 to 60 kilometers per hour may occur in the Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Faridpur and Madaripur regions.
The warning covers six regions rather than seven districts, according to the details provided by the Meteorological Office.
In view of the forecast, river ports in the affected areas have been advised to hoist Cautionary Signal No. 1.
The warning is effective from 9 AM to 6 PM on Thursday.
People living near rivers and those using waterways have been advised to remain cautious during the period of adverse weather.
