Dhaka, Sep 29 (V7N)- The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has asked the sea ports of Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar to display local warning signal number 3 as a deep depression over the North Andaman Sea and the Myanmar coast moves north-northwestwards.
The Meteorological Department issued the warning on Tuesday, September 29, saying the deep depression was likely to move further north-northwestwards and cross the Myanmar coast near the Kyauk Kyo area within the next two to three hours.
According to the warning, the deep depression had remained in nearly the same area until midnight before beginning to move north-northwestwards.
The sea ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been asked to lower distant warning signal number 1.
At the same time, Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar ports have been instructed to hoist local warning signal number 3 due to the developing weather conditions.
The Meteorological Department has also advised fishing boats and trawlers operating in the North Bay of Bengal to remain in sheltered areas.
Fishing vessels have been asked not to venture into the deep sea and the northeastern Bay of Bengal until further notice.
Authorities are continuing to monitor the movement of the deep depression and its potential impact on coastal areas and maritime activities.
