Patuakhali, July 2 (V7N)– Due to strong southwest monsoon winds in the northern Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal areas, heavy rainfall is occurring in Kalapara, Patuakhali.

The meteorological office recorded 49 millimeters of rainfall in Kalapara from 6 am Monday to 6 am today. Continuous rain over the past five days has caused significant inconvenience to the general public, with waterlogging in various low-lying areas along the coast. Seasonal vegetable farmers are particularly worried.

The monsoon winds have led to the formation of deep convective clouds, making the Bay of Bengal near Kuakata somewhat turbulent. Due to the possibility of stormy winds along the coastal areas, Signal No. 3 has been hoisted at all sea ports, including Payra. Fishing trawlers have been advised to stay close to the coast and navigate cautiously.
