Chittagong, Sep 24 (V7N) – The Meteorological Department has instructed the four major seaports in Bangladesh to display local warning signal No. 3 due to the formation of a low-pressure system in the west-central Bay of Bengal and the adjacent north-west region.
The warning was issued on Tuesday, with Meteorologist Md. Omar Farooq signing the official statement. According to the department, the low-pressure system is creating deep circulating clouds over the North Bay of Bengal and along Bangladesh’s coastal areas, which may result in gusty winds affecting these regions and seaports.
Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla, and Payra seaports have been specifically instructed to hoist local warning signal No. 3. Additionally, fishing boats and trawlers operating in the North Bay of Bengal are advised to stay close to the coast and exercise caution until further notice.
This advisory remains in place to ensure the safety of maritime activities in the affected regions as weather conditions may worsen due to the developing low-pressure system.
