Dhaka, Oct 02 (V7N) – BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and eight other senior party leaders have been acquitted in the 2012 Paltan police explosives case, according to their lawyer, Zainal Abedin Mejbah.

The case, which was filed 14 years ago, accused the BNP leaders of involvement in an incident involving the detonation of explosives and driving a garbage truck to Paltan police station. The court's ruling comes as a significant relief for Mirza Fakhrul and other prominent BNP members, including Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, who were named in the case.

The long-running legal battle has finally come to an end, clearing the leaders of any wrongdoing related to the charges.
