Dhaka, Mar 11 (V7N) – A Dhaka court has issued an order to ban the departure of seven individuals, including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her sister Sheikh Rehana, son Sajeeb Ahmed Joy, and daughter Saima Wazed Putul, in connection with a corruption investigation. The other individuals included in the travel ban are Sheikh Rehana’s daughter Tulip Rizwana Siddique, Azmina Siddique, and son Radwan Mujib Siddique.

The order was issued on Tuesday by Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md. Zakir Hossain Ghalib following an application filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). The ACC’s application cited an ongoing investigation into corruption allegations involving Tk 59,000 crore against these individuals. The application stressed the necessity of preventing their travel abroad to ensure a fair and thorough investigation into the matter.

The court granted the ACC's request, issuing the travel ban in the interest of the investigation.
