Khulna, Nov 30 (V7N) – Two people were shot dead in front of the Khulna court premises around 12:15 pm on Sunday.

Eyewitnesses reported that the victims, Hasib Howlader and Rajan, both sons of Mannan Howlader from Notun Bazar, were standing near the court gate after appearing in court and having tea. At that time, four to five assailants approached them and opened fire.

After the victims fell to the ground, the attackers reportedly used machetes to further injure them before fleeing the scene. Both victims were rescued in critical condition and taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries.

Hasib’s brother, Shakil Howlader, said that a weapons case had been filed against Hasib a few days ago, and he had appeared in court in connection with that case.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are working to apprehend the attackers.
