Rajshahi, Nov 26 (V7N)- Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-5) arrested a drug-dealing couple and seized 2.4 kilograms of cannabis hidden underground in Baragachi village under Paba Police Station in Rajshahi.

The operation took place late on Sunday night, following a tip-off. The cannabis, buried on the couple's property, was recovered during the raid.

In a press release issued on Monday, RAB’s Mollapara Camp confirmed the arrest, identifying the couple as professional drug dealers involved in an ongoing family drug trade in the Baragachi area.

A case has been filed against them under the Narcotics Control Act at Paba Police Station. The arrested individuals were produced in court on Monday, where they were subsequently sent to jail.

Authorities have stated that efforts to curb drug trafficking and related criminal activities in the region will continue with heightened vigilance.
