/Rangamati, Jan 09 (V7N)— The Baghaihat Sena Zone of Sajek Union No. 36 in Baghaichhari Upazila, Rangamati, distributed winter clothes to the needy, helpless, and elderly people in the region on Thursday.

The initiative, led by Baghaihat Zone Commander Lt. Col. Md. Khairul Amin, provided warmth to around 200 local hill and Bengali residents in Gangaram Bazar and Baghaihat Bazar areas of Sajek Union. The distribution focused on the poor and underprivileged families of Wards 4 and 5. Lt. Col. Md. Khairul Amin was joined by Deputy Commander (Acting) Major Md. Abu Naeem Khandaker.

Speaking at the event, Lt. Col. Khairul Amin stated, "Many people in the hilly areas are struggling during the winter. This initiative by the army aims to support the common people and alleviate their suffering. The army remains committed to working for the welfare of the country and its citizens."

The event also saw the presence of local representatives, including Dayadhan Chakma, UP member of Ward 4, and Sumita Chakma, the reserved women member for Wards 4, 5, and 6.

This compassionate initiative by the Baghaihat Sena Zone underscores the army's dedication to community welfare and its ongoing efforts to support the underprivileged in remote areas.
