Bhola, Apr 26 (V7N)- In a late-night operation, the Bangladesh Coast Guard arrested three armed robbers and recovered illegal firearms, ammunition, and counterfeit currency in Madanpur Char of Daulatkhan upazila, Bhola district.

The raid was carried out around midnight on Thursday (April 24) following a tip-off about criminal activity in the area. The detainees were identified as Alauddin (45), Zahir Uddin Babar (48), and Lokman (42)—all residents of Madanpur Char.

During the operation, the Coast Guard seized:

  • Three firearms

  • Three country-made weapons

  • Four rounds of cartridges

  • A stash of fake currency notes

A Coast Guard official confirmed that the raid was part of an ongoing effort to curb armed robbery and illegal activities in coastal regions.

Legal proceedings are currently underway against the arrestees, and investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of their criminal network.

Locals expressed relief after the arrests, stating that the group had long terrorized the area, especially at night.
