Dhaka, Dec 28 (V7N) — The Bangladesh Land Port Authority (BLPA) has announced a 5 percent increase in service charges at all land ports across the country. The hike applies to taxes, tolls, and fees for each service and will take effect from January 1, 2026.

Benapole Land Port, the busiest in the country, will implement slightly higher fees compared to other ports. A separate notification has been issued for Benapole.

Under the new rates at Benapole, the fee for passengers will rise from Tk 49.79 to Tk 52.27. Buses, trucks, and lorries entering the port will now pay Tk 184.70, up from Tk 175.90. The fee for motor cars, jeeps, pickups, and three-wheelers has been set at Tk 110.82.

Additional charges at Benapole include Tk 88.65 for using the weighing machine for trucks and lorries, Tk 195.07 for document processing, and Tk 111.49 if a vehicle stays overnight in the yard.

The 5 percent increase also applies to other land ports in the country, except that Benapole’s fees remain slightly higher. Traders have expressed concern that the higher fees may impact the cost of imported goods.
